Nancy Katz
Even with a wealth of experience honed during a more than 25-year career in public relations, Nancy Katz is still excited by new challenges and opportunities and embraces innovation and the creative process. Her keen instincts for strategic planning, understanding of what makes news media tick, and handling curve balls as they come has translated into success for her clients, no matter the project, event, issue or campaign.
It is this enthusiasm and knowledge that she brings to her position as public relations director at Purdue Marion & Associates. Previously Nancy was a public relations account supervisor at R&R Partners. During the largest building boom in Las Vegas history, Nancy managed the public relations strategy leading to national and international media relations for three billion-dollar resort grand openings – Luxor Las Vegas, Treasure Island and the MGM Grand. Efforts for these back-to-back openings yielded major broadcast and print coverage, including the cover of Time magazine. She also handled the agency’s major healthcare accounts, the Clark County School District, Las Vegas Centennial Celebration, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Nevada Mining Association, National Security Technologies and other clients and pro bono accounts.
A native Las Vegan, it’s only fitting that Nancy has expertise in entertainment and event public relations. She supervised public relations for the 2006-2009 Andre Agassi Foundation’s Grand Slam for Children celebrity benefit concerts. The events have been among the largest one-night fundraisers in the country and generator of millions of dollars in earned media coverage.
Nancy graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is a graduate of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Las Vegas program. Nancy is an avid sports fan, loves old movies and still finds time to help some favorite nonprofit organizations.
